Descriptions Southwest Fireproofing Type 1XRTM is a high density mixture of Portland cement and vermiculite. This combination has formed the basis of spray-applied fireproofing materials for over 50 years. Formulation developments over the years have improved application and service characteristics while maintaining the excellent fire resistance and durability of this proven mixture. Specific Uses Type 1XRTM is a durable high density fireproofing specifically designed for petrochemical service conditions. This product formula can also be used for chemical processing structures as well as other exterior or interior conditions requiring durable fireproofing. Benefits Type 1XRTM has excellent workability, spraying and adhesion characteristics. Type 1XRTM sets to form a hard and durable monolithic barrier with superior performance characteristics. Type 1XRTM is comprised of common Portland cement, vermiculite and other ingredients requiring only the addition of water to produce a wet mix easily applied with standard industry equipment. Applications Type 1XRTM is used in petrochemical and other demanding situations requiring a high density product as shown in the Selection Chart. Typical uses for Type 1XRTM are:
TYPE 1XR CEMENTITIOUS FIREPROOFING IS SPRAY-APPLIED TO STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS OF BUILDINGS FOR FIRE RESISTANCE. UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES FIRE TEST RESULTS HAVE QUALIFIED IT FOR USE IN OVER 100 DESIGNS. UL DESIGN PAGE TYPE 1XR CEMENTITIOUS FIREPROOFING IS DERIVED FROM THE BENEFICIAL COMBINATION OF PORTLAND CEMENT AND VERMICULITE. IT IS NON-COMBUSTIBLE AND UNDER FIRE, IT RELEASES WATER OF CRYSTALLIZATION WHICH TURNS TO STEAM AND RETARDS HEAT TRANSFER.
